Non-state socialist SMES: analysis for the Cuban case

Abstract

The current paper is aimed at contributing to the debate on the structure of the property of the means of production in a socialist economy like Cuba; through the analysis of two key aspects: first, evaluate whether or not the promotion of SMEs can alleviate part of the structural problems of the current Cuban economy. In such a case, it would be necessary to deeply analyse the features such SMEs should include to ensure their compatibility and coherence with the socialist model.
