Abstract

From the outset, Feminist Economics has evolved in parallel with the central (neoclassic) body of the economic field, with limited chances to influence it. However, this does not mean that Feminist Economics has developed in isolation, on the contrary it has stablished rich debates with different disciplines which, starting from a wider conception of the economy, unravel and analyze in depth non-commodified economic spaces and practices. Within this field, this article focuses on the contributions made by Critic Economic Geography and specifically by the School of the Diverse Economies to the study of community work, of the commodification thesis and of social and solidarity economy spaces. The description of these contributions is intertwined with feminist economists’ reflections concerning these issues. Then, some central approaches of Feminist Economics are highlighted before summarizing the central ideas presented in the article and introducing some possible and necessary future lines of research
