Abstract

The article deals with the state of the art of economic psychology, also known as behavioural economics. After a brief review of the foundations of economic decision theory and the two main research programs, it discusses the consolidated results of the discipline (especially the effectiveness of heuristics), the aspects that need to be improved (such as the definition of the contexts most favourable to the various heuristics) and the remaining challenges, especially the incorporation of uncertainty.

Pere Mir Artigues, Universidad de Lleida

Catedrático de Economía Aplicada de la Universidad de Lleida (1996), con dedicación docente e investigadora en microeconomía. Ha publicado artículos y libros, como único autor o siendo coautor, sobre teoría de la producción y el cambio técnico (Funds, Flows and Time. An Alternative Approach to the Microeconomics Analysis of Productive Activities, Springer 2007), ha analizado las fuentes renovables de generación eléctrica, tanto el aspecto técnico-económico como el regulatorio (The economics and policy of solar photovoltaic generation y The economics and policy of concentrating solar power generation, Springer 2016 y 2019, respectivamente), ha contribuido al análisis económico de los procesos biotecnológicos (Biotechnology and Bioengineering, DOI: 10.1002/bit.27093) y, recientemente, ha publicado sobre teoría de la decisión (Decisions, preferències i heurístiques. Una introducció a la psicología económica y Decisions, Preferences, and Heuristics. An Introduction to Economic Psychology and Behavioral Economics, Universidad de Barcelona y Edward Elgar, 2022 y 2023, respectivamente).
